Frequently Asked Questions

What is a 2D/Gender Determination ultrasound?

A 2D Gender determination ultrasound uses sound waves (same technology as diagnostic ultrasound) to view the
          baby and determine the gender.

When is the best time to have a 2D/Gender Determination ultrasound performed?

Gender determination ultrasound can be performed as early as 16 weeks.

How does 3D ultrasound work?

Using the same technology as in 2D diagnostic ultrasounds, the ultrasound machine takes 3 2D views of
your baby and comprises the 3D image.

What is the difference between 3D and 4D?

3D and 4D are the same image, however,
3D is the still image (picture CD) and 4D is seeing the baby actually move in real time (video DVD).

When is the best time to have a 3D/4D ultrasound performed?

3D/4D ultrasound can be performed anytime during the pregnancy.

We suggest you wait until after your 27th week to have the complete session performed.

In our opinion, the best pictures and videos are seen between your 28th and 34th weeks of pregnancy.

We suggest getting the gender session, should you want to have any ultrasound prior to 24 weeks.

Do I need a prescription for the 2D Gender or 3D/4D Ultrasound?

There is no prescription necessary, however, you must be under a physician's care for your pregnancy.

Will insurance pay for the ultrasound?

The Gender, 2D, 3D, and 4D ultrasound are purely elective, and for entertainment purposes.

They are not intended for diagnostic purposes.

Insurances companies do not pay for them.
